At CSSA, our work is made stronger by our collaboration with others.
Church bodies
We are pleased that so many church bodies (both religious life groups and dioceses) have chosen to sign up to CSSA. By doing so, they have shown that they are committed to working towards excellent standards of safeguarding.
If a church body has entered into a contract with us, they have said yes to being inspected, and yes to being accountable to the public. We don’t underestimate the courage this takes, and we commend it.
There aren’t any other inspectorates of safeguarding in the Catholic Church in England and Wales. If we are all to prevent harm, this matters.
Here we publish the list of those church bodies who, by working with us, have committed to being transparent about their safeguarding work. They are known as ‘registered affiliates’.
We thank them for working with us in our vision of a safe Catholic Church for all.
Other professionals
We work with a range of other individuals, agencies and organisations. We are open to new ideas and to sharing best practice.
For example, we may work with educational institutions specialising in trauma-informed work with survivors, or with other similar church inspectorates or regulatory agencies in other UK nations or internationally. We work with other safeguarding teams such as Religious Life Safeguarding Service in England and Wales. We work with statutory national agencies such at The Charity Commission and other religions and denominations such as The Church of England. Most importantly, we jointly oversee the independent support service for survivors Safe Spaces.
